During a week in which our country is mindful of all the things we should be thankful for, we're taking a moment to welcome a new member to the PG team. Donnie Gedenk (pictured with his much better half, Nancy) joined us earlier this year and we were all so busy we didn't have time to welcome them properly. So, welcome to the team, Donnie. Great days ahead!

It has been said the highest compliment someone can pay you is by offering you a job. Well, it should also be said that we hold our "first employee" in the very highest regard! While Steve Miller can't necessarily fly like an eagle... to the sea... he's the best survey crew chief we have ever worked with! He is an exceptionally conscientious surveyor who understands the big picture and is always looking for a more effective and efficient way to get the job done, but never at the sake of quality, completeness or accuracy. While we've known him for a very long time, it is exciting to welcome Steve to Platinum Geomatics. He's also very camera shy.

March 24th, 2016: Platinum Geomatics Signs General Services Agreement with Oglethorpe Power Corporation
Platinum Geomatics executes a General
Services Agreement (GSA) with Oglethorpe Power Corporation to provide
professional Land Surveying and Mapping services in accordance with the terms
of the GSA. This GSA provides PG a
contract to continue to work directly with the management and staff at Rocky
Mountain Hydroelectric Facility in Rome, GA.
PG began the annual Dam Deformation
and Deflection survey for OPC in late April and will continue to provide
services on an as-needed basis at Rocky Mountain and other OPC owned and
managed facilities throughout the state of Georgia. PG’s Founding Partner and Director of Land
Surveying, Byron Freeman, was excited about signing the annual contract, adding
“This contract was a primary goal for us when we started Platinum Geomatics. We expect to continue to build on our
relationship with the staff at Rocky Mountain Hydro and prove our value through
excellent customer service and quality work.”

the confidence the staff at ACC has placed in our professional
capabilities. In addition to Houston
County, Platinum Geomatics has successfully delivered the Deans Bridge Road
Landfill in Augusta and will soon wrap up the mapping for the Camden County, GA
Landfill near St. Mary’s GA.
March 2nd, 2016: Platinum Geomatics First Day!
The founders of Platinum Geomatics celebrated their first
official day together by holding a meeting in their sales department which also
doubles as the Simmons family kitchen table.
In an interview at the conclusion of Day One, Byron Freeman, Founding
Partner and Georgia Registered Land Surveyor lamented the fact that PG
leadership missed a golden opportunity to have their first, official day of
business on Monday of the same week, February 29th (Leap Day). Mr. Freeman added “I’m not sure why we
couldn’t come to a consensus on this…
I’m sure it has something to do with insurance or tax implications… I already feel oppressed.”
Luckily, the remainder of the week went as planned and
the launching of the next great surveying and mapping firm progressed,
unimpeded.
